Hackney South and Shoreditch Labour Party are the party members who are working to get Labour into power both locally in Hackney and nationally. We want to see Jeremy Corbyn leading a government that works For the Many not the Few.
There’s over 3000 of us and as well as our regular meetings, this year, we’ve held a socialist disco, xmas party, summer barbecue, screening of a new film, and poetry and comedy fundraisers. We’ve been on demos together to support the NHS and oppose austerity and to the Women’s Strike and we’ve stood on picket lines with local Hackney Picturehouse strikers and other workers. Our new Housing Campaign Group joined the Grenfell Silent March and our Brexit Discussion Group has looked at the impact of leaving the EU on economic and environmental policy. We’ve also walked thousands of miles canvassing to get Labour candidates elected and posted thousands of leaflets through doors. Below is a video made by our members about our work.
If you’re interested in getting involved, you can join Labour here. Our secretaries Jon Narcross and Penny Wrout will be happy to answer any questions that you have – you can email them on firstname.lastname@example.org
