Sun 21st Oct 6:00pm – 10:00pm

Brewer’s Bar, 77 Shacklewell Ln, London E8 2EB, UK

This is the first of a series of screenings and discussions organised by Hackney Labour in collaboration with Brewer’s Bar. We’ll be showing the documentary Still the Enemy Within. Still the Enemy Within is a unique insight into one of history’s most dramatic events: the 1984-85 British Miners’ Strike. No experts. No politicians. Thirty years on, this is the raw first-hand experience of those who lived through Britain’s longest strike. Follow the highs and lows of that life-changing year. After watching the film we’ll be sharing our views about it with an invited speaker who was part of the struggle.

Tickets are Pay-What-You-Can-Afford. Suggested donations per person: £7 waged, £3 low/unwaged, £12 solidarity. Places are limited so please book if you want to come along. After the cost of the film is covered, we’ll donate anything raised to support local strike action.

Doors open at 6pm, and the screening will start promptly at 7pm.
