Cancer wrecks lives. The National Health Service saves lives. But the Tory government is wrecking the NHS.
Come and hear from Hackney activists about personal experiences with cancer and how we can defend our NHS.
Thursday 17 October, 7.30-9pm
Jack Dunning Community Hall
Homerton Row, E9 6ED
Step-free access and accessible toilets
In a venue next to Homerton Hospital, where her breast cancer surgery took place, Janine Booth reads extracts and poems from her new book, ‘The Big J vs The Big C’.
Hackney-based comedian and activist Kate Smurthwaite aims some feminist comedy at austerity and sexism.
Speakers will outline Labour plans to kick out the Tories and rescue the NHS from their clutches.
There will also be time for questions, contributions and discussion.
Janine’s book will be available to buy at the event. It is also available in print and ebook formats from www.flapjackpress.co.uk
