As the General Election is getting closer, we’re opening the Hackney Labour office for longer hours for people to drop in to do admin and phonebanking: If door-knocking isn’t your thing or you want to stay warm while you work for a Labour victory, you can join us at 86 Amhurst Road, E8 1JH. Training, drinks and snacks will be provided. If you want to phonebank, you just need to bring a phone (and if you have one, a tablet). We have some computers in the office, but if you’re coming in to do admin and can bring a laptop, that would be really helpful.
- Tuesdays: 11am to 3pm and 5pm to 9pm
- Wednesdays: 11am to 2pm
- Thursdays: 11am to 3pm and 5pm to 9pm
- Fridays: 11am to 3pm and 6.30pm to 9pm
- Saturdays and Sundays: 11am to 3pm
You can also phone voters in your own home
Dialogue the Labour Party’s phonebank app has gone live so you can start phonebanking voters in marginals from your own home. The cost of the calls is paid for by the party.
To do Hackney on Tour without leaving Hackney, go to this link: https://dialogue.labour.org.uk
You’ll need to login with Labour. If you don’t have a login, click the link to activate your account and follow the instructions (if you need your membership number email Heather at firstname.lastname@example.org). If the system tells you that you already have an account, chose the option to reset your password.
Once you’ve logged in, you will need to agree the data protection statement and then there’s a video to watch that explains how the system works. Then you’re ready to get started.
You can choose where you want to phone. Marginals Hendon, Thanet South, Milton Keynes South, Worcester and Keighley all need support. Though you may want to choose one where you have a personal link.
It’s a nice interface and they give you a script but they’re still ironing out the quirks so if you have any problems or need talking through the system, call Heather on 07748187216.
Happy calling and remember not to leave voicemail messages as it’s against the law!
